During his tenure, Cerberus affiliates held controlling or significant minority interests in more than 60 companies around the world in multiple industries. The firm’s current portfolio of companies employ nearly 400,000 people globally and generate aggregate revenues in excess of $70 billion per year. As Co-Lead, Dennis and the team achieved materially enhanced operating performance on an integrated basis in distressed companies, business carveouts and complicated assets to achieve monetization at strong risk adjusted returns.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Dennis was Executive Vice President at The Home Depot, a $90B company. As CHRO, his responsibilities covered all aspects of human capital management and organizational effectiveness for the company’s 380,000 associates, as well as, communications and external affairs. Dennis and his team designed and implemented numerous marketplace, workplace and external initiatives to reposition the company with high performing talent and world-class process, metrics, systems and structure. These initiatives were widely recognized and contributed to Chief Executive Magazine’s selection of Home Depot for the top 10 for Best Companies for Leaders. Dennis also led the company’s transition from a decentralized purchasing model to a “hybrid” model in which a central office oversees purchasing while store and division-level managers decide what to sell based on the local market. Shortly after implementation, the hybrid model helped improve the company’s gross margins by 1 percent – an achievement Fortune Magazine described as “a huge accomplishment in the world of retailing.” During his tenure at Home Depot, revenues increased from $45B to over $90B in six years.

Leading international Aerospace and Defense Company with diversified Engineering & Construction and Commercial Electronics businesses. Revenues over $15B with more than 100,000 employees. Dennis was recruited by the newly appointed CEO to work with the team on the critical integration of acquisitions of the defense businesses of: Hughes Electronics; E-Systems; and, Texas Instruments. He and the team also focused on a multiple-year project to shift the strategic direction from a diversified industrial company to a defense electronic systems and services company. As CHRO, Dennis led the introduction of a comprehensive human capital platform and impactful labor strategy which received broad recognition – including his induction into the National Academy of Human Resources.

GENERAL ELECTRIC

Dennis joined GE on the company’s acclaimed Corporate Human Resource Leadership Program. He progressed with increasing responsibilities in human resources, labor and industrial relations, communications, labor law and external affairs with the media, public and government. In addition to being appointed as a Company Officer, Dennis held the following positions: VP – CHRO, Communications and External Affairs – Power Systems; CHRO, Communications and External Affairs – Industrial Systems, Turbine Business Group and Power Generation businesses; Corporate HR and Labor Consultant for the Consumer Products Sector – Lighting, Major Appliance, Housewares, and, Consumer Electronics businesses; Labor Relations Specialist, Negotiator, Manager, Chief Negotiator and Labor Counsel – Defense, Transformer, and Plastics businesses. On the commercial side, Dennis served as a key account staff executive for customers in Thailand, Turkey and Puerto Rico. He also created and led ‘HR Solutions’, a consulting initiative which leveraged GE’s process platforms as a channel to market with customers throughout the world. Dennis was selected as a GE representative to work in Moscow, Russia to create a training platform for Deputy Ministers. During his tenure at Power Systems the business more than doubled sales.
